I’m John Davis—better known by many as John of New. My life has been anything but ordinary. From touring the world as a comedian with the Hack and Slash comedy show, to forging swords in my workshop, to recalling under hypnosis the life of John the Beloved Apostle, my path has been one of constant transformation and discovery.
At the core of all of it is a single mission: helping people remember the truth that has always been within them—that love, presence, and personal empowerment are the real essence of spirituality.
From Stage to Service I spent years on stages around the world, bringing laughter and lightheartedness to thousands, including U.S. troops during six USO tours. I created Baltimore’s largest Holiday charity event, the Hack and Slash Christmas Special, which raised countless funds food and clothing for the homeless. Performance was my way of connecting—but behind the comedy was always a deeper calling.
The Awakening of John of New My spiritual path took an unexpected turn when, after several Psychiocs told me of my past life, under hypnosis in a past life regression, I experienced vivid memories of being John the Beloved, the Apostle who walked with Jeshua (Jesus). Whether one sees this as literal or symbolic, it became the catalyst for my life’s true work: sharing Jeshua’s simple, radical message that the Kingdom of Heaven is within you. Out of this, John of New was born—a YouTube channel, a growing body of books, courses, and teachings, and a worldwide community of seekers who are ready to move beyond doctrines, dogmas, and the confusing maze of religious and New Age ideologies.
A Simple Path of Love and Presence My teaching is not about hierarchy, rituals, or external authority. It’s about remembering your own divine power, living fully in the present moment, and embodying love as the guiding force of your life. I call my practice sitting in love—a return to simplicity, clarity, and presence.
A Life Still Being Written Today, I continue to share through my YouTube channels--Expanding Spirit, The Recovering Catholic, —offering perspectives that are both practical and spiritual. My books, including Signs Along the Path and the forthcoming Recovering Catholics Guide to Spirituality, and Exhale: Finding Inner Peace in a Mad World distill these teachings into tools for anyone ready to step into their own freedom and creativity.
This journey is not about me—it’s about us. It's about humanity remembering who we truly are: Empowerd creators, who throughLove, can build a better world. My role is simply to remind you of what you already know deep inside: you are far more powerful, loved, and free than you were ever taught to believe.
